L.A. Confidential 1997
“I did what I had to do for justice”
Didn’t like this as much as I wanted to, La Confidential is really shallow, no depth to its mystery. Russel Crowe is a star though, he is the most interesting part of this movie.

Hard Truths 2024
“I don’t understand you but I love you.”
Trauma is easier to pass along than covid, this movie gave me anxiety and stressed me out just watching it so I can’t imaging how stressful it must have been for Marianne Jean-Baptiste who gives a great performance as the jarring but complicated pansy; A woman filled with grief and pain but shielding that with hate and contempt. The screenplay here is incredible at filling in the gaps, at making this a very lived in situation, a very authentic movie, I miss London.

Nosferatu 2024
“Does Evil come from within us or beyond”

Nosferatu was phenomenal, I really enjoyed this, dreadful, gothic, tense and beautiful. A story on a vampire…

“Mikael it did work, you’re here”
Nothing better than a grimy looking, chilly investigative procedural made by David Fincher. Genuinely need him to return back to this type of movies. I’m obsessed with the setting of this movie, this movie doesn’t work as well as it does if it’s not set in Europe, it’s perfect that way. Loved Finchers direction, the way he shoots these movies, the way he paces them, taking the time to sync you into the daily…
