Last Breath 2025
Last Breath is a standard survival movie that basically only focuses on building the mission therefore everything around it is shallow from the characters to the writing so the tragedy barely fails to register because I don’t know anything about our character other than he has a girlfriend. It’s emotional thread is loose, whether it’s David’s daughters or Duncan being forced to retire, it’s all pretty uninteresting writing. The movie ends up being too short for its own good and the mission lacks any tension.

“I did what I had to do for justice”
Didn’t like this as much as I wanted to, La Confidential is really shallow, no depth to its mystery. Russel Crowe is a star though, he is the most interesting part of this movie.

Nosferatu 2024
“Does Evil come from within us or beyond”
A genuinely terrifying horror film, how rare. I love Eggers, I support his decision to spend his career making period films because no one can do it better than he can from the devotion to the craft with pitch perfect production design and costumes to the time apt dialogue that transports you to 1800s Germany. Nosferatu was phenomenal, I really enjoyed this, dreadful, gothic, tense and beautiful. A story on a vampire…

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2011
“Mikael it did work, you’re here”
Nothing better than a grimy looking, chilly investigative procedural made by David Fincher. Genuinely need him to return back to this type of movies. I’m obsessed with the setting of this movie, this movie doesn’t work as well as it does if it’s not set in Europe, it’s perfect that way. Loved Finchers direction, the way he shoots these movies, the way he paces them, taking the time to sync you into the daily…
