I'll never be able to explain what possessed me to watch this and the movie with the sweaty dog that came later, but y'know. I'm sure I'm better for this experience.

Castle in the Sky 1986
I liked the bit where there was a castle and it was in the sky
Really cute and incredibly pretty movie. I sound like a broken record, but amazing characterization as always. I loved watching these guys on-screen! This one felt a lot goofier than other Miyazaki films I've seen and I'm here for it—gave me a lot of Lupin III vibes. Didn't hit a ton of emotional beats for me, but words cannot describe my feelings on all the environment art in this movie. It's just so so pretty. I NEED a Ghibli Zelda movie so baddddd.

Arrakis was there. Dune existed. Desert planet indeed was.
The movie is incredibly technically impressive and they absoultely nailed the moods they were going for. Every time the bald people were on-screen, I was very uncomfy which is exactly how it should have been.
