Mulholland Drive 2001
I really hated this the first time I saw it. Now I thought it was okay. Some parts are very effective at giving me chills. There’s several moments where the eerie feeling builds up in a matter of seconds and it gives me this hyper-sensation that shakes me. And for the most part a lot of the story seems like filler just to get to those points of maximum goosebumps that hit hard.

I hate the tone of a movie that thinks it’s telling this profound story and being super dramatic, and then having the supporting actors do these bizarre comedic performances that the main characters have to sit through until it’s time for them to get all sappy again. It’s manipulative, and it’s awkward. It’s a 2000’s rom-com.
