Ariana was made to play Glinda cuz I wanted to slit their throat the whole movie, pretty much exactly how I’d imagine she acts in real life. Otherwise, shit bangs. The whole defying gravity scene is definitely the girl equivalent to miles’ leap of faith in spiderverse. Shit was epic.

I don’t even know where to begin. I went into this thinking it was gonna be some of the goofiest shit I’ve ever seen but oh my god I was wrong. The technical side alone is enough to make this 5 stars. The set design, the direction, editing, cinematography, are all fucking phenomenal. It amazes me how much skill Baz Luhrmann has as a director. The plot isn’t exactly original but the way it’s portrayed made it a thousand times more interesting. Seeing Obi Wan in a musical went insanely hard too. His performance was phenomenal. Overall this shit was fantastic.

The wokeness this movie portrayed was absolutely horrendous. The constant shitting on men was just too much, so bad that it took away from what I would assume the movie was trying to portray. Believe it or not it is possible to write empowered women without the need to shit on men in every line of dialogue. Now I know the jokes went both ways but the ratio was probably like 1 anti-women joke to about 200 anti-men jokes. Now visually, the movie was cool with all the pink and other colors, but I just couldn’t get behind the content.
