The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

    ★★★★½

Warner Bros. sucks because they aren’t marketing this movie well and it’s likely not going to do well and now any future Looney Tunes movie is likely going to be a cash grab throw away film.

But at least we have this. This is something rare and special.

Hell yeah see that was a nice classic Looney Tunes throwback. Daffy Duck and Porky Pig got re-designs more akin to their classic looks. Their personalities felt more true to their original…

Pretty thrilling true story of two working class heroes. Any movie with Denzel is a win.

It’s a love letter to the more sillier aspects in the blaxploitation genre. Black Dynamite is an inspired and entertaining romp through the 70s. There’s a ton of love put into this film, capturing a lot of the tropes from the good and the bad.

It’s all here: janky editing, noticeable stunt people, weird cuts, disposable side characters, super dated practical effects, hyper violence, reused shots, illogical conclusions, overly dramatic moments, noticeable film blemishes (artificially added of course), a…

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

    ★★

As a mega fan, I don’t have the energy to talk about it all now but I’ll leave you with this:

It’s not awful, but it’s not Indiana Jones. Some of the elements are there but the film does not understand what the heart of this series is. It doesn’t feel like those classic adventure serials with cliff hanger after cliff hanger. The film lacks tension, fun, and meaning in both its action, sense of adventure, and a significant percentage of its story.

It doesn’t ruin Indiana Jones, but it didn’t need to happen and it makes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull look a lot nicer.
