  فلم قدم عدة أفكار عظيمة وبليغة، وأكملها بنهاية أشبه بالرقص مع شياطين الذات الداخلية.الأنا هي العدو ولا بد من تقييد جماحها، أن المخاطر التي ستلحق بالنفس بسبب السعي الى المثالية ثمنها أعلى بكثير من الكمال الذي يحاول المرء الوصول إليه، بل هو ثمن قاتل بالفعل، إن تمكن منك فقد أوقعك أرضاً.كما أن محاولة التسلط والإستحواذ على طرف آخر -وإن كان بدافع الإهتمام والحرص- لا يولد الى عدوان معاكس بين كلا الطرفين، فقد حاولت الأم الإستحواذية/المتسلطة بمختلف السلوكيات بأن تبقي ابنتها في طور محدد، وتحقق ما كانت تسعى إليه من خلالها، حتى ظهر هذا الكبت الخانق على هيئة خدوش قهرية وأمتد الى ما هو اسوأ.
