for a spy thriller, I was expecting to be more thrilled. A whole lot of talking and not a lot of shooting.
That being said, the last 20 minutes or so is a masterclass of filmmaking. Almost made the whole movie worth it.
It has become clear that Parasite was an outlier in Bong Joon-ho’s filmography. This is a bloated and weird movie. I have no problems with quirks, but at least keep the story tight.
Robert Pattinson gives an acting Master Class. And that’s about the only performance I can commend in this.
Bong Joon-ho clearly does not like the upper class between Snowpiecer, Parasite, and now this. This is cool. No qualms with that, but commentary should feel subtle. Toni Collette…
I watched this to prepare for the sequel and it talked me out of watching the sequel.
Owen Wilson asking for cake was the best part of the movie. It is interestingly directed but I hated this movie. It just was not interesting and I did not understand the purpose of its existence.
