I never really got this film - nor much of Tim Burton’s films.

A complete product of lockdown.
A wonderful and surprisingly poignant film, which perfectly encapsulates the experiences of many during Covid in a surreal and brilliant way.
We need more documentary films like this.

The Equalizer 3 2023
A great opening. Largely set in Naples (and Sicily) this film really understands Southern Italian (albeit highly romanticised) culture. Clearly the writer/director loves Italy. Moments of languor and serenity are punctuated with extreme violence, courtesy of the ever charismatic Denzel. This juxtaposition is always something I found interesting whilst living in Naples. On the one hand you have the laid back, catholic family orientated way of life. Yet, in the background, there’s this very real violent presence from the Camorra. For a big blockbuster action film I was impressed with how well they captured this. Would watch again.
