I had so much fun watching the whole thing but I couldn't help but feel that they didn't do as much with the human printer as they could have. They touch ever so slightly on how the printer is viewed by different churches and schools of thought, but never fully explores it.

"Does evil come within us, or from beyond?"

Unreal Christmas Day experience. The movie itself is fantastic, and it's the best vampire movie I've ever seen. In my opinion this tops Herzog's and the original. That said, there are also a lot of great nods to the original silent film, and it draws much inspiration from that era. The lighting is unreal, the performances were fantastic, and Eggers is just written all over it. It is a lovely piece of auteur cinema that I imagine I'll enjoy even more with a few rewatches. Somehow better than Hotel Transylvania.
