My Dad saw me watching this and said he remembers feeling pretty bad for Carrie. Me too, Dad. Me too.
Sissy Spacek kept me watching for the first hour until the prom when Brian DePalma reminded me why he’s such a great director. The low angle circle dolly shots and the moving split screen. I wish Carrie could’ve made it out alive, almost as much as I wish they would’ve cast someone else as the mother.

Liked this film a lot. It was a tad long and had a little too much wizard of oz shit all over just for fun. Some great scenes while they’re in bed together. Loved the mother and the style surrounding her. Very memorable film but probably won’t watch again for a while.
