I’m so glad this was amazing. Wes’ signature style all over it, but also delightfully charming and intelligent. It’s funny, thoughtful, and overall mesmerising. I cant put my thoughts into words, which is the biggest compliment I can give this film.

Yi Yi is one of those films that you simply cannot pull yourself away from. For a three hour film it went by like a snap of the fingers, overflowing with meaning and technical incredibilities. All of the characters are marvellous, and the understated cinematography and performance elevate this to an all-time great. I already cannot wait to rewatch this over the summer, and I doubt I’ll stop thinking about it for a long time. So much is said and implied and I doubt I even picked up on half of what’s there.
