The Witch 2015
The ambiance and cinematography is great, however where it makes up in a visually interesting movie it lacks in a strong story line, with one major plot hole: Why was the family asked to leave in the first place?
The pay off in the end ultimately doesn’t feel earned, however it sparked my interest in learning more about Pilgrim culture.
I’d go more into detail, but it might be too much of a spoiler.

A mother’s grief can be eternal and desperate, to the point of becoming an evil genius, and at the cost of anyone else’s life. I was very pleased with this movie, it has a lot of elements of psychological thrillers I enjoy. I’m glad to see the horror community making great films again.
