Holy cow Sean Baker is so good at this. His film Florida Project is one I think about a lot and I love because it’s this very American story about class, family, growing up. In many ways, Anora is similar. It’s a story about privilege, New York, wealth, immigration, and appeasing power. It’s also laugh out loud funny. It’s also perfectly acted — from Mikey Madison down to the gas station attendant who is on screen for three seconds.

An electric film that feels similar to wolf of Wall Street in that when the movie hits its groove, you feel like you’re flying along with it.
Sure, we could cut it down from 3 hours. But not much of the movie drags, even with its run time. There’s so much energy that even after the millionth Ginger/Ace fight, you’re still locked in.
