Adaptation. 2002
At first, I struggled to differentiate conformity from adaptation as both Charlie and Orlean clearly want to break the existential mold of the world; but by the middle of the third act it was clear: Charlie adapts! Who would have thought.
Similarly, the motif of a ghost flower representing a screenplay is very persistent, but why couldn’t the flower represent a human? They both adapt, no? But I believe it is agency that keeps humans out of the equation.

A film without characters, only themes.
It felt distant and hard to connect with. Caden never changes, making him feel more like a symbol than a character, which ultimately makes the film hard to engage with.

Anyone But You 2023
Anyone But You, with no exaggeration, might be the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.
The writing, dialogue and acting was atrocious, The Room-esc. With this, Sydney Sweeney some how managed to be by far the worst. Even after a fun little joke that was most likely unfunny, Sweeney would say the most unhumorous, terribly acted, nasaly and annoying line ever spoken on film.
Even for a rom-com it lacks depth and any intriguing features. After that…
