This movie could have ended four times, and the complicated suburban footage was so unnecessary I laughed out loud.
There are funny parts and glimpses of great Will Ferrell movies past, but overall it isn’t always better to be less constrained as a streamer.
My wife wanted to see this movie, and besides the bumping into a neurosurgeon and being at the same restaurant in a huge city, the least believable part is how a homeless veteran and a girl with no experience (or college degree? Idk) both open successful businesses.
Where is Lily getting vendors? Capital for a startup? How did she learn to remodel a dilapidated building or use Quickbooks?!
And Atlas, he became a chef?!? Got financing for a brand new restaurant?!!??
How old are they?!? They did this all in their 30s?

Ever drink a La Croix? The packaging and branding make them look fantastic, with flavors like Strawberry Peach and Key Lime they get you excited, but then you drink one and it’s just a shadow of the real thing.
Would anyone confuse a Key Lime La Croix with an actual piece of Key Lime Pie? No.
Gladiator 2 does some really interesting things well, but is just the La Croix of the original. Gladiator one is on a short list of one of the best movies made this century so far IMO, and the sequel lacks the magic the first one had for me.
