Expertly written and edited, Soderbergh & Koepp deliver an old fashioned espionage mystery-thriller that’s covertly about marriage and trust. Or:
    “fun and games”.

The progression of its mystery is efficient and constant; intelligent people saying intelligent things, quickly. Not hard to keep up with though, the plotting is neat and easily recalled making the final revelations clear and satisfying. Fassbender & Blanchett bring an aloof cool that supersedes much of their characters’ romantic chemistry. A tough angle to play when the story…

Decent entertainment but far more mild mannered than expected. There is some basic-ass scripted comedy and lazy writing but an easy chemistry between SZA & Keke Palmer and some good bit parts from Kat Williams, Janelle James and Lil Rel Howery make up for it.

This is not good enough for Keke Palmer and she is too good for this world.

Shocked. One of the best musical biopics I’ve ever seen. Seriously fresh and inventive despite being so, so familiar. The chimp conceit really works, whether you know shit about Williams or not.
This is outrageously well directed coming from the guy behind The Greatest Showman.
Mental it exists, dunno who was expecting or asking for it, but fuck it, it’s here and it’s great.

May be blinded by a little bias though; been a fan of his since I was…
