The Brutalist 2024
Was in from the moment vistavision was plastered across the screen, loved how big of a swing it took on everything (act titles, intermission, score) even if it didn’t all work, especially a lot of zaniness in act 2. Seems built on the shoulders of PTA with similar vibes to The Master, which still blows my mind how that was largely ignored in a year where Argo strangely dominated the awards conversation.

Loved loved this odyssey through a world littered with remnants of what humans have left behind and a rag tag group of animals navigating the trials of a world ravaged by unpredictability of weather phenomena. The ending shook me with a change in perspective I wasn’t expecting from a quaint little animated movie.
