Little Buddha 1993
With beautiful shots amidst very bad acting and a terribly flat screenplay, it is more accomplished as an introductory documentary about Tibetan Buddhism (featuring key imagery of Bhutan and Nepal) and far less so as an actual feature film narrative.

The Brutalist 2024
The Brutalist sets up a monumental post-war epic around immigration issues and architectural work. It magnificently delivers to its high ambitions, but the changes in tone over the shorter third act, although deliberate, are far too abrupt for it to feel like a cohesive and sound narrative.
