  A unique twist on religious horror. If we are to judge the movie solely on where we started to where the story concluded, it would have been 5 stars. The development of the story along the way as well as the intellectual “challenges” that were raised were limited in scope and felt very sanitized. If we are to engage with critical concepts, we need screenwriters that are willing to go a bit more critical. Overall an enjoyable movie for a Sunday evening, wouldn’t go out of my way to see it in theaters though. Tackling the concept of religion is no easy task.

  The ending had the most impact on me. The concept of sacredness has stuck with me. Also— one guy calls it like it is, France returning relics is for good PR.. bc they are losing their influence all over Africa, what aspect of the return signifies liberation?
