  This is bad in so many ways, but my favorite is that the film begins with a voiceover explaining how the gods walk among men and are tall, and then the first scene is the gods being… tall. That’s it. They’re just Gandalf sized. 
  Also the dramatic reveal that the ancient Egyptian Sun God Ra is Geoffrey Rush in a bald cap with a little white braid on the back of his head, riding a spaceship that pulls the Sun on…

  Wow, can’t believe 2024 brought us not one but *two* long movies from Visionary Directors about architects who are Great Men—misunderstood, stubborn, difficult, & drug-addled—trying to realize their visions no matter the cost. Both films think women are mysterious foreign creatures, decorative and supportive, sexy and horny and vulnerable, and (the films are surprised but proud to have noticed) sometimes intelligent.   Nosferatu 2024

  It’s fine. Basically a lavish Disney live-action remake of the 1922 version, with some flourishes and cool shots but no significant improvements imo. They should have gone easier on the Nosferatu prosthetics—he looks more like Candyland’s Lord Licorice than the embodiment of evil. (-E)
