    The Avengers

    ★★★½

Honestly really good, but I wish Marvel would just let serious moments be serious

The obsession with putting a quip at the end of ANY intense moment to remind people that's they're watching a whacky crazy woohoo superhero movie is so annoying

Still, that final battle is iconic, and I forgot how much focus there was on character moments and relationships throughout the story

    One Piece Film Red

    ★★★★½

I was pretty sceptical about the idea of a One Piece musical-based movie, but after seeing Film Red, I now feel like it's the perfect fit

    Perfect Blue

    ★★★★★

Amazing, such a fantastic horror-filled experience with some truly hypnotic imagery that really ramps up the tension and mystique of the whole thing

Can definitely see why Perfect Blue is still so beloved after all these years. To be honest, the reality of the subject matter seems even more relevant today, unfortunately

    The Tragedy of Macbeth

    ★★★★½

Such a unique mix between theatre and cinema, this movie really is in a world of its own in terms of visual style

I know Macbeth has been analysed to death, but it does need to be said again that it stands as such a fascinating character study with some genuinely creepy horror elements thrown in for good measure, and this film really does capture it all perfectly. Like a lot of Shakespeare's plays, it's just so timeless!
