  Included some of the best set pieces I've seen. I've recently gotten into Kubrick's filmography through Eyes Wide Shut and that film while not as large in scope as this one had me in a trance-like state where it felt as if a lot of the framing choices were super deliberate and this one had that dialled up to 100.   One of the most beautiful films I've seen. It's shot composition & cinematography were out of this world, with so many picturesque scenes that were worthy of screenshots. It's crazy that this came out in 1996.

  I've also never watched a film that was so experimental with it's tone but somehow manages to balance it out perfectly, all complimented with good acting and brilliant atmosphere that kept me engaged throughout.
