the film literally revolves on the premise of never settle for someone, but honestly it's a mess of wires trying to understand the main point of the movie.
no sex = dean goes sad boy = they fight = bye bye marriage
they do show how they were before, on how dean settled on becoming a dad just because he loves cindy even if frankie wasn't his. the efforts weren't reciprocated, thus it was kinda valid. but then, goes back to no sex = dean goes sad boy = they fight = bye bye marriage.
