  NICOLE MISS CUNTRESS KIDMAN!!!!!!!! ALCOHOLIC ARMORED POLAR BEAR!!!!!!!!? why was I absolutely living for this. it’s a loser move to tone down the overt religious criticism of the novel (rectified in the TV adaptation) but I also think it’s hilarious that it didn’t stop the Catholics from attempting boycotts lolllll. costume design EATS. CHEWS! and the visual effects FOR 2007! are brilliant.

  I never caught the War on Iraq references the many times I’ve seen this before but! Interesting stuff. The book is much more deconstructionist and more explicit on the feminist and labour angles but I can’t help my nostalgic attachment to the romance in this 🩷

  Loved it! Need more of these Christie type murder mysteries in contemporary cinema. Perfect balance of humor, suspense and heartfelt emotion. Love the feeling that something was always off (everyone saying they were outvoted, no one remembering where Marta was from etc). The actors were fantastic (personal favourite is Toni Collette but that’s just cause I love her) and all-around an enjoyable experience.
