Great film, for some reason, don’t ask me why, but I try and watch this every paddy’s day (there’s only 1 or 2 actual Irish characters in this film and they’re either mocked or have like 1 line but fuck it, some traditions aren’t supposed to make sense).
Of all the films Scorsese ever did this is probably one of the lesser deserving of the awards it ended up getting. It’s monstrously entertaining don’t get me wrong, and it’s brilliantly…

The first, say 40 minutes, of this film is absolutely brilliant. Literally one of the best set ups I’ve ever seen and that’s not an exaggeration. It’s brilliantly done. If it wasn’t for the performances the Neverland sequences would have nothing going for them outside the brilliant practical sets and retrospective novelty of 90s nostalgia and culture that for some reason was allowed to creep into this films depiction.
