I don't even like Murakami that much and even I hated this completely clinical and sterilized adaptation that completely fails to imbibe any of the emotion and imagination of Murakami's writing.

Aside from all the things that irk me about Murakami - female characters mystified to the point they are dehumanised, a self-obsessed male protagonist, female characters' arcs always culminating on something to do with sex; - Having to sit through a boring script that felt like it was crafted out of a therapy session stretched to its limit on a three hour runtime, was absolute torture.
