An excellent representation of grief and a cathartic experience on lingering regrets. This film is a fervent reminder that love is an active and conscious decision and we must deal with the consequences of those decisions when we choose to love. Grief is a natural and unavoidable consequence of love and this film wants you to know above all else that love is a choice we must make in spite of that.

Grave of the Fireflies follows an older brother trying to protect and care for his younger sister in a war torn world. This boy is not prepared to take care of himself, never mind his sister, and it shows. The pacing is outstanding, the art is outstanding, the characters are painfully realistic and this movie holds absolutely zero punches.
