I always thought about this one as other people’s favourite Wes Anderson because I didn’t love it as much as Rushmore when it came out and didn’t think I remembered it all that fondly or that well at all. Turned out that I remembered every scene and memorable line but my brain had obscured every emotional beat from my memory of the film. Wonder what that’s all about. Hit quite hard on the big screen. Pretty much perfect. RIP Gene/Royal.
