Has some fun energy. I adore Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri.

Jaws meets The Abyss. More of a Cameron feeling vehicle than something Spielberg would take on. Unapologetically 90s to the point that I almost had to go find a bottle of Fruitopia to chug.
Great popcorn flick.

A slow burn that never quite gels for me. Great performances. Well shot. Parallels to Bong Joon Ho’s “Parasite” (which is the stronger film in my opinion).

This demands to be seen more than once. It asks more questions than it answers, and I’m hoping to gain more understanding with repeated viewings. This film is filled with beautiful, quiet moments. Koji Yakusho is phenomenal in the lead role of Hirayama. There is an extended shot at the end of the film that holds on his face. Powerful stuff.
