  Hmm. Lots of gags, none of the heart. You gotta earn those moments. This one thought it was clever when really just following formula. And it couldn't even really do that. Pacing was way off, story not satisfying, characters undeveloped.
  Not terrible, but a far cry from the original.
  I like the kakamora though.

  I am biased. I worked on this set and read numerous versions of the script during development. I am glad it was finally made (for a tiny fraction of the cost), but I absolutely fell in love with the original big budget version. Possibly the best screenplay I've ever read... Put this up against other movies with the same budget limitations and it wins.
