This tore me open, I never cried do much watching a film, tough to watch, although it is only an hour and 40 minutes, it seemed to go on forever. I did not want it to end as I was trying to process the loss with Leo. The loss of a child is often insurmountable for a parent. The pain diminishes but never goes away. Eden Dambrine was so real in portraying Leo’s struggle. Sadly, the story accurately portrays how an intimate friendship between young boys, is not as acceptable as it is between young girls.

The Outrun 2024
Having listened to Amy Liptrot's "The Outrun: A Memoir" this movie version just reminds me of Nomad's Land. Half documentary about the Orkneys and half a retelling of a struggling alcoholic's young life. Having some-one as famous as Saoirse Ronan in the lead role, and the disjointed way of telling the story does not engender believability or empathy. It does not reflect the healing solitude that Amy Liptrot found on the island Papay.
