this is a movie that legitimately changed my life. not kidding. i watched it when i was around 13 or 14 on OVATION (the directv ~art movie~ channel) and it made me really realize the degree to which film can tell a very serious story, not have a "happy ending," and was by extension one of the first films that really affected me in a deep emotional way. i'm normally not a huge fan of musicals/theatre but liza minnelli's performance…
