Megalopolis 1973
What was already growing continues to grow, and what was forgotten remains unremembered.

Maioria Absoluta 1964
It's so messed up to realize that this doc was released in the year of the Coup D'État.

Grand Theft Hamlet 2024
The first half hour promised much more. I think the more aware they became of what they were doing, the worse it got because the naturalism of the interactions disappeared and was replaced by focus, and with it came a narrative control that eliminated the surprise effect and brought a seriousness that it couldn't justify. I feel (but don't know) that there is a lot of narration on the images after the fact, to enhance that importance.

The Count of Monte Cristo 2024
The middle section, from the return to Marseille to the courthouse, is extraordinarily engaging. It allows the audience to participate in the manipulations that make up the justice the Count pursues, exploring the characters' trauma as they approach success. The problem is that the other sections are far less interesting, mere checkpoints that didn't do much for me.
I have to say that my hatred of drone footage and the poor choreography of the final duel truly affected my rating. Niney is an excellent Count and AnaMaria Vartolomei a star.
