“…All according to the law.”
Klaus Kinski stole the mf show but this was pretty freakin awesome across the board—love a good wintery setting that’s truly cold to its core. fascinating that there’s 2 alternate endings for this and Corbucci went with THAT one. entirely emotionally dissatisfying yet its applicability to the present day is undeniable. also, the Morricone score at ~20 min left is SO GOOD.
safe to say I finally understand the cowboy appeal too gosh darn 😍🤤 never trashing the Western genre again if the leads are gonna look like thattt

one’s a busty crustacean & the other’s a crusty bus station 🫳🎤

The Night of the Hunter 1955
fairly bored of religious fanaticism in movies at this point (either due to oversaturation or my own overconsumption), but this has to be THE blueprint. possibly the most visually arresting b&w film I’ve ever seen. deeply unnerving portrayal of a (based on real life!) villain. and the SCORE 😍

Blue Velvet 1986
yeah whatever, we all got dark sides and Freudian impulses. not that groundbreaking. I grew up in the suburbs too and I’m sure if I tried hard enough I could’ve found an ear somewhere. best believe I wouldn’t be picking it up with my bare fingers though 😟😟
