  "Rice" is a propaganda movie for the military government who took control over South-Korea from the democratic government in 1961. The film shows a dysfunctional democratic system with corruption, and politicians who give false promises and only care about votes for the next election. It also shows a non-working bureaucracy that pushes every case on the next department.

  Even without the propaganda elements in the film I felt it was a great nationalistic film…

  Definitely more interesting than "Mother and a Guest" in my opinion. It's more scandalous, more drama, more violent & etc. The son is a really frustrating character to watch and he deserve a special place in hell. The story had my attention and I was rooting for Samryong throughout the film. The story definitely shocked me with the direction it went towards the end - I just didn't expect it this movie to go their.…

  They could have shortened this series, or they could fleshed the characters even more - I feel it would worked better with 5 episodes or less, or gone the other way of 10+ episodes, but instead it just falls in this weird middle and sometimes it felt like it was dragging and sometimes there wasn't enough.

  The present timeline would be even more creepy and interesting if it weren't for that they went back and forth between the timelines...

  It is a decent series, it had a crazy good setup with an amazing cast, but in the end it did not deliver.

  The friendship storyline was more engaging that the whole pyramid game. (It was more fun to watch Soo-ji, Ja-eun, Jae-hyeong, Ye-lim & Ji-ae hangout than anything else that happened in the story)

  It some how felt rushed, or that they tried to squeeze a 16-episode plot into a 10-episode plot. There were some plot points they dipped into…
