  How good is this movie? Good enough to needle drop Radiohead’s “Creep” non-ironically and make it work. A brutal, beautiful, fecund-textured tone poem like no other.

  Rewatched with my folks last night. My mom lived in Gorham when it was filmed there… apparently my grandma held a grudge against Tatum O’Neil. 

  Despite that, this is the best film about Kansas bar none. Step aside, Wizard of Oz. It’s distinctive in how spare it is, but also so full of joy. And Bogdonavich made it just after the best film about small town Texas?  Wow.
