Despite dominating domestic football during the 90s, manager Alex Ferguson was yet to restore Manchester United’s European glory when in 1999, glory arrived in an unprecedented fashion.

This was when football peaked. Me and my sister would sit and watch all the Champions League matches together that season. It was really special.
So I was lapping all this up, the content is amazing. But though, they really fkd up with their daft timeline. Was not a fan of that.
The story of Utd, especially the Fergie years, is simultaneously over-exposed and under-told. It’s almost impossible to talk about Utd in the premier league era in isolation. The evolution that Wenger brought to the game, the new pace of winning Jose set; these are all the stories that shaped Utd while also being important stories in their own right. No team or story of the premier league era exists in isolation. We need an epic miniseries documentary about the development of the EPL and its intersection with pop culture, the development of satellite TV, the globalisation of the game, and all the other amazing stories surrounding English football in the 90’s and 00’s. Im getting tired of these isolated stories. They feel like appetisers. I want the full course.
99’ is competent and fun (loved Yorke), but it feels incomplete.

It's been 25 years to the day since the biggest and best club in the world completed the greatest sporting achievement of all time, yet every time I watch Ole sticking his foot out to score the most important goal of his life I celebrate like it was yesterday. Actually I did celebrate yesterday as King Erik the Second won us another cup. Legend.
An infinitely more impressive and meaningful Treble than the blue side's and achieved with 115 fewer charges of cheating hanging over us.

An incredible sporting feat made better by the most dramatic ending to a champions league final in history. Anyone that knows football knows the story of Manchester United transcends the game of football.

Being a United fan, this one really gave you a lump in the throat at times.
There is the glaring issue of Roy Keane’s absence that runs throughout this three part documentary about Man U’s legendary treble cup winning campaign in the 98/99 football season. It’s a serviceable show that carefully charts the buildup to the climactic final ten days of said season, but still it lacks a bit of oomph somehow. Worth a watch for fans of the club, although the reminder of past successes throws into sharp relief the current shambolic state they are in.
