KV Anand once again impresses with a cleverly plotted drama that blends reincarnation- psychology- romance- destiny in quite an impressive manner, but misses out on his usual narrative strongholds, turning dull at many places. Cinematography and music were solid. Nevertheless, ends up a decent watch.
the way i would’ve gotten a restraining order against madhu so quickly 😭 FREE MY MAN ASHWIN 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Burma part was absolutely amazing
Dhanush is the energy in this keeping it together. Took a while before the movie got interesting. Also a bit difficult to follow with several generations of the lovers taking place, with totally out of place songs breaking up the flow. Only that hooligan song number in the middle fit the mood. The story picks up the second half though without ever truly coming together. But Dhanush is the man to keep your eyes on.
ladies, is he really ur boyfriend if he does not dance with ur spit on his hand like anegan dhanush from danga maari ?!
god, give us back baby dhanush plssss😭😭
retroactively boring villain aside this movie kinda rules a little, I dunno, reminds me of cloud atlas tbf
I’ve always avoided this movie because I didn’t like Amyra Dastur’s face and tbh I probably should’ve stuck to that because she was really annoying. If someone who had more chemistry with Dhanush, like Shruti Haasan, did this movie then it would have been much more enjoyable. KV Anand was a good director but it was clear that he lost the juice by this point in his career. Anegan was filled with interesting ideas but none of them were fleshed out properly which led to the movie being a mess.
R.I.P. KV Anand, I’ll always appreciate you for giving us Ayan and Ko.
There’s a thin line between understanding whether your love for a film comes from a place of nostalgic craving or an objective, content - based stance.
I want to stop rewatching this film. Because the more I do, I lose the adoration I have for it. Let it remain as the feel - good film I resorted to as a child.
The songs are beautiful, thanks to my Harris Jayaraj. The acting was okay, and if not for Dhanush, this would be a low tier film for me. Dastur is a beautiful actress and definitely has the potential to act, but I really wish her lip sync could have matched better. Kollywood, please cast actors who either know the language or are willing to make the effort to conceal the fact that they don’t know on screen at least.
Anegan had a really interesting idea with fun twists, but could have been executed much much better!
Danga Maari Oodari 🐐🗣️📢🔥🔥🔥
