I watch this film at least once a year and honestly it still makes me feel ALL the things. it's just got everything I love: it makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it's a road movie, there's original music that's an organic part of the narrative, found family outsmarting the police lmao, complex relationships between women, a satisfying ending (I still cry every time lol), 90s nostalgia, also the line "Der Tod dauert das ganze Leben, und hört vermutlich auf, wenn er eintritt" lives in my mind rent free
however, a hill i will die on: the enemies to lovers plot between emma and luna is RIGHT THERE and yet................make it gay you cowards

Prätentiöse Musikvideo- und Werbeclipästhetik, die einem mit steigender Laufzeit auf die Fackel geht. Katja von Garnier will hier auf Teufel komm raus dicke Eier zeigen, die sie selbstverständlich gar nicht hat. Problem auch, dass hier fast nur unglaubwürdige Arschgesichter die Geschichte, oder besser: die Handlungsüberleitungen für die Songs, die auf CD verhökert werden sollen, beherrschen. Und dann mag man den Kack zwischenzeitlich doch ein bisschen, weil Supercutie Nicolette Krebitz dabei ist.
Ohne Zweifel einer der schrecklichsten Filme aller Zeiten.
I wasn't aware of how amazing this film would be on the big screen. My mom gave it to me on DVD for my 16th birthday I think, so I watched it shortly after and really liked it, but hadn't seen it since. About a month ago I saw that it would be screened in cinemas, and I thought I should probably take the opportunity to rewatch it that way, especially since there even was a Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening.

I honestly was a bit scared before going to the cinema with a couple of friends and revisiting "Bandits", a film that I've seen numerous times when I was really young but hadn't seen for at least 15 years.
Well, I loved it!
I loved the jokes that still worked as good as they did 25 years ago, I loved the feminist approach in style and subject that was somewhat of an affront in the late 90s German cinema, I loved the music, the actresses, all the female power and solidarity. Of course some parts resemble more of a music video, and you'd never again (hopefully) apply this amount of filters onto the beautiful images - but hell yeah I LOVED seeing explosions on my beloved Köhlbrandbrücke in the cinema!!
Bonus points for the crew being cute af and watching some of them meet for the first time in ages was heartwarming.
I originally just watched this movie to see Katja Riemann playing the drums, but this turned out really damn good!
Amazing cast, amazing storyline, amazing music, amazing aesthetic, amazing ending.
