A well crafted drama that takes you on an incredibly moving journey filled with plethora of emotions. It’s powered by the spellbinding pitch perfect performances of Amitabh Bachchan, Ayesha Kapur and Rani Mukerji. Ironically, for a movie portraying the darkness in the life of a young woman, one of the most striking feature is its extraordinary lighting and cinematography. The storytelling isn’t flawless, but it triumphs in making you be more grateful and appreciate life better.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Black" is not just a film; it's an experience. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's direction is masterful, creating a visually stunning and emotionally resonant film.
"Black" is a powerful and moving film that explores the depths of human strength and the importance of connection.
life is an icecream... enjoy it before it melts...
college interviewer: how many oceans are there in the world?
mitchell: for me, every drop of water is an ocean
easilyy the best film of sanjay leela bhansali 🛐
he is a goated filmmaker for sure, but should focus on human emotions as well like this one, rather than only making huge sets and showing grandeur like the recent ones 😭👀
obv the dialogues and cinematography are always top notch in a slb film 🤌✨
there's a reason why amitabh bachchan is called a megastar, he can literally act with his eyes, god level stuff 🙏
and rani mukherjee, no words literally 🫠🫰❤️
immense respect for the makers for not adding a random music video in the movie, very rare in bollywood ⊙.☉
life is an icecream, enjoy it before it melts 🫠🍦
"Wa... Water"
in my eyes dude, in my eyes.
العالم في قصتي مخـتلف ..حيث يتجاوز الصوت الى الصمت والضوء الى ظلام هذا عالمي حيث لا شيء يمكن ان يرى او يسمع هناك اسم واحد لعالمي "Black "
💔
This is one of those movies that you watch till the end and it seems like you've been on a long trip with many bumpy potholes and police stops on the way. It's not really telling a story as much as taking you through trials and tribulations.
The 2 main characters played by Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji will keep you glued to the screen for 2 hours. Both try to pull each other out of the darkness, in a world without faith and patience. Special shoutout to Ayesha Kapur whose visceral performance is one of the most empathetic things to come out of India. If you know or have a handicapped or mentally disabled family member, it will beat…
Kalau Rani Mukerji mah gausah pake alasan lagi wkwkw, dia mah emang udah jago😄
This is hardly your typical Bollywood film, especially since over half the dialog is in English. The first half is a remake of the Miracle Worker with Amitabh Bachchan as the teacher and a young Ayesha Kapoor giving a great performance as the deaf and blind Michelle McNally. The second half diverges as it traces their adult relationship, with Michelle now played by Rani Mukerji, as her teacher devolves into Alzheimers. Set in undefined colonial times (“The Gold Rush” is playing at the local cinema), it is visually stunning and beautifully directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also directed “Guzaarish and Devdas,” with great performances all round.
You guys sure it's bhansali's best work out there? Coz I don't think so at all🫠 It wasn't bad but this guy's each and every film is better than this as per me🫣 tho looking at 2005, Yeah This was very new for Bollywood ig.
Why did it not work for me? Maybe bcoz I've read a long ass book on Helen Keller's life so I've always had that beautiful story visually printed in my mind ever since, and this is not it. Like AB & Rani gave best performances, no doubt but that wasn't enough. I never felt that connection and even when at times I did, some things happened( which I find completely unnecessary) which just made me lose…
To the times when bollywood indeed offered true cinema.
life is about living for others.
an out-of-the-box experience. sanjay leela bhansali has a way of balancing dramatic elements and having the emotional impact be the most powerful. this story is about selfless love. and it proves you can make a great difference in someone’s life. and it may seem hopeless at first but if you just keep trying the word “impossible” will cease.
i really have to applaud amitabh bachchan’s performance in this. he was brilliant. for me he was the heart of the movie and you instantly sympathize with him.
rani mukerji is a fine actress and seeing her in this was a delight. she is so versatile. and deserves more praise for what she is able to…
