madhuri falling in love with a photo of srk is a whole mood that's too real 😳
This one has a pretty low average user score, because it's insane and some people want sane movies, because it's in part violent and bloody, which turns some viewers of these song and dance romances off, and, I assume, because the villains are rapey to a degree that probably make people uncomfortable.
But for anyone who wants their emotionally violent and surprisingly horny 90s-posing-as-80s melodrama drenched in a feeling of psychosis this movie is a treasure. It starts running and relentlessly pummels the viewer with insanity after insanity, from female protagonist Madhuri Dixit introduced when she together with a group of children steals candy laced with cannabis and perform the first dance number as a stoner comedy, to male protagonist…
Truly insane movie, where Madhuri Dixit gets catfished into marrying a crazy greedy king, and where SRK plays a mute servant. Feel this was just an excuse for him to show off his acting chops with him mostly not speaking for a good chunk of the movie. The movies fine, everyone is just doing their thing with Amrish Puri delivering a mental performance as the villain, like bro was just causing nothing but chaos throughout the whole thing😭. Him sending women to a brothel every time they acted up is crazyyyy, on top of that him calling everyone a bloody fool is just peak.
There’s so much going on, and there’s a lot to take in. But it’s so fun and I liked the direction of the story during certain parts, with the mute servant no longer complying and fighting back after years of always just standing around!.
he dick don’t work! support coal miners unionising!!
Rewatched Koyla after such a long time and I got to say that this is the superior SRK-Rakesh movie, no two ways about it!!
Has aged so well. Despite it being almost 3 hrs long, it never feels so bc it's so gripping and entertaining through and through, and on top of that SRK's performance and his chemistry with Madhuri that takes it to a whole another level OMG
I'm in awe of just how perfect SRK is as Shankar. Right from the submissiveness to the anger to being his babygirliest, he's done it all too well. What makes SRK's performance goated is how well he depicted Shankar (considering the fact that he can't speak for the most part of…
Koyla: Coal
“I'm a burning charcoal of revenge ... in the flames of which all of your lives have been caught ... and in the fire of this charcoal you all will burn into ashes one by one”
Rakesh Roshan’s Koyla is the third and final collaboration between him and Shahrukh. Also probably their weakest one. All 3 films they did together are among the weaker ones in Shahrukh’s career. Just a case of films simply not aging well. Shahrukh liked this story and was keen on doing it rather than Karan Arjun. Not sure why because this is a pretty stupid story. The first half is just unbearable. Once they escape it gets a bit more interesting. The arc…
ugly and delightfully off putting
Shahrukh Khan in a red bandanna . Respect
oh but imagine eating cannabis sweets with madhuri dixit tho
what
I have no idea what the fuck is going on but im so engrossed in all of its silly glory. Most parts of the film feel like an absolute fever dream and a lot of it is unintentionally hilarious. Say what you want about the quality of the actual film but this was one of the most fun film's Ive watched in a good while, and one that ill be re-watching on a yearly basis which will be my new tradition. It's a long burn and a tad too creepy at times but it's an absolute awakening experience that has scarred me for life.
amrish puri kills multiple men, sells two women to a brothel and shoots four dogs in the face all in three working days. i mean find me a harder working villain.
People hate this movie. I'm not people
