Meera and Arjun are professionals living in Gurgaon. On their way to a luxurious desert holiday they stop on a Highway dhaba for dinner, where they witness a young girl being picked up by a bunch of hoodlums. Arjun chooses to step in, unmindful of the danger ahead.

the very choice to portray a story about a patriarchal custom through the vessel of a high-anxiety horror-thriller is genius in and of itself; because the very custom is the most bone-chilling horror of all. the film is excellently made, it gets the pacing correct, keeping the audience holding its breath pretty much the entire runtime. the twists and turns were excellent from a story line perspective ofc, but the fact that every event was another added layer of social commentary, just so so good. and the ending was immensely satisfying, especially after seeing her arc to get there. this is definitely a unique film for the industry, desperately need more well thought-out thrillers from bollywood and with the endless possibility in sociopolitical commentary, it's a pity there aren't more deeply intelligent, striking and thrilling films as this.

A Straw Dogs/Eden Lake-esque survive-the-night thriller haunted by casteism and honor killings. NH10 takes a while to intensify, with a bloated first act (still peppered with suspenseful moments); its back half kinda falls apart too, especially once our protagonist shifts from hunted to avenger. But Anushka Sharma sells that shift even if the script doesn’t, while the chase tension and cruel human horror throughout is often very effective. Gritty brutal Indian cinema recommended for genre film fans

it's the fact i have experienced scenes in the first act itself to some extent, from random people following meera late at night, to the sheer eeriness when they ask for directions and at the dhaba, that really makes this film all the more chilling for me. these are unfortunately very real issues india faces and the script does a great job in turning an eden lake-inspired movie into an indian one.
it's not easy being a woman in the world's largest "democracy" but at least meera gave the men what they had coming
It's impressive to see how Sudip Sharma digs from the murkier depths of India's caste politics and honour killing. Anushka Sharma perhaps is the only leading actress today who is actively working on such intriguing projects in the mainstream format.
The group of Anushka Sharma, Sudip Sharma, Prosit Roy and Navdeep Singh after working on NH10, Pari and of course, Paatal Lok shines a beam of hope. One can only hope they continue to do so despite the extremist hurdles blocking their path.

A vicious one-long-night attack and revenge film that is shockingly violent for an Indian production and doesn't skimp on the cultural complexities. It's a little sloppily directed, but the tight script makes up for it.
Note to myself: please, don’t ever marry an idiot who got no fucking brain to use, like Arjun.
This movie is just plain stupid.
Obvious, Eden Lake remake (sort of) but I don't remember that one to be about the horrors of patriarchy and casteism. Granted, this isn't nearly as disturbing as the former but the change in the ending here is pretty rewarding. The performances too help greatly; besides the obvious fierce performance of Anushka, it's Darshan Kumaar who shines next.
