Pan 3 puts us chronologically forward a little bit in Frampton's meta-exploration of his career, this time using sped-up footage originally intended for his film Ordinary Matter, the fifth part of his Hapax Legomena septet that I kinda wish I was talking about instead since, like the last few Pans, it pretty gives you everything in in its images and nothing else. What we have now is a claustrophobic run through a patch of cornfields, never certain where the camera will turn in its blazing speed, a method that acts as a direct replication of Surface Tension's jog through New York, only not as visually arresting and leaving much to be desired with its…
