This some wild shit. As well as beautifully inspiring, its terrifyingly bold. To climb the peak of a mountain and ski down at a 45 degree angle takes all kinds of biscuits 🧗♀️
These guys are loony. I'm baffled they find sheer mountain faces to be that fun to ski down when they're hardly even like... skiing down it? I like to ski! Downhill skiing is fun, but at this point its hardly even skiing anymore.
Whatever, i'll never share that same passion as these dudes for the sport but it was so insane to me it felt like i was being pranked.
It WAS however a fantastic look into the aesthetic of 2000's sports documentaries. Surfs Up did it better

More like “Sleep,” how did they manage to make a film about extreme sport dull. Nice footage though.
a solid film to build excitement for skiing! it has a good balance of the fascinating spiritualism of ski-mountaineers and the plain fun and stoke of old ski movies. the complaint i have is that there’s not enough of a through-thread, but it still makes sense!
Even though I'm not at all a sports fan, everyone finds incredible sports videos to be fascinating. I'm certainly no exception, and the new skiing documentary "Steep" is filled with breathtaking, unbelievable footage. You can't help but be in awe of the athletes and the filmmakers who possess the amazing skill of capturing it all on film.
The problem that plagues this film, and all of the similar films of Warren Miller as well, is that a little of it goes a long way. The filmmakers do a nice job of introducing us to the skiers, and we get to know what makes them tick and take the extreme risks they take. There's a lot more insight here than in…
