Syngenor is such an approximation of a movie. It's like they took elements from all these different genre flicks*, threw them in a blender, and KABLAM!, it's a brand new movie. ✨
It really doesn't gel I think. Individual moments are decent, but as a whole it's a frustrating experience.
Perhaps I shouldn't be too critical of Syngenor, since some of it is obviously not meant to be taken seriously, but a lot of it is just played so straight.

It's the 90's there's a lot of shit suits and corporate finger sucking. I mean David Gale is injecting green stuff into his neck and fucking me off killing my favourite security guard. Special meeting in my office.... get your power suit & barely black stockings on and get into this 90's horror! give me more.

I don't know man this movie ain't worth a whole lot, unless you wanna see David Gale play a cartoon villain. But even then you're better off watching Death Machine which does a similar thing but has Brad Dourif playing Tommy Wiseau so hey here's a shout-out to Death Machine I guess.

While I was watching "Scared to Death" the creature was described as a Syngenor (short for SYNthesized GENetic ORganism) and I was thinking to myself that it sounded and looked very familiar. I checked my collection and there it was on an unwatched German Blu-ray: "Syngenor (1990)", with a creature design looking very much like the one in "Scared to Death". What is this? A bonafide sequel or a spiritual successor?
It appeared that producer Jack F. Murphy was impressed by the creature design in "Scared to Death" by William Mallone that he wanted to make another film utilizing the same monster design. William Malone even helped out in the special effects workshop.

It's ridiculous, it's over the top, it's Syngenors slowly waking around like the industrial war machines they're meant to be.

SYNGENOR - DAS SYNTHETISCHE GENEXPERIMENT
SYNGENOR zerfällt in ziemlich genau zwei Teile. Der erste Teil des Films besteht hauptsächlich aus dem intriganten Spiel der Gen-Konzern Mächte und Chefs. Keiner vertraut dem anderen, jeder ist sich selbst der liebste und man möchte unliebsame Presse und andere Gestalten die zu nah an das Geheimnis um die "Syngenors" herankommen am Liebsten eliminieren. Die zweite Hälfte des Films die dann ab ziemlich genau der 57.sten Minute startet, ist der Action und den Monstern im Gummikostüm gewidmet. Natürlich machte mir diese zweite Hälfte wesentlich mehr Spaß, da unser David Gale (Dr. Hill "Re-Animator") auch so richtig über die Strenge schlagen darf und Overacted was das Film-Zelluloid hergibt.
Aber um was geht es…
An effects showcase unmatched ensues after a xenomorphic bio-soldier breaks from its corporate dungeon to stalk the cityscape. Its creator and a taskforce wage war, at behest of a crazed bioweapons CEO, against an alien terror created by man.
That's what this sci-horror should've shot for. Instead ashes of a Scared to Death (1980) sequel are salvaged for a rigid monster soul-sucking a topless escort and teaming to run a secretary into a breaker box. A taskforce from a Bruno Mattei wonder is sent into their containment just for some sloppy gunplay. The niece of the program's creator and a reporter comprise the protagonists but who cares.

After Savage Weekend, I concluded my David Gale double bill with Syngenor, a simplistic but charmingly old school creature feature. Unbeknownst to me prior to viewing, the film is a sequel to Scared to Death (1980), directed by William Malone; given my recent track record with Malone's House on Haunted Hill (1999) and FearDotCom (2002), I'm reluctant to dig into his earlier works, but I could overlook my doubts if he made a film anything like this 1990 effort by George Elanjian Jr.

This sequel to Scared to Death was a campy B movie style sci fi horror that won’t be a must watch but will be an amusing watch for those into creature style horror.
Besides the creature design and bloody kills, David Gale stole plenty scenes in this movie. Overall this was a decent watch.

Apparently "Syngenor" is some kind of remake sequel to the 1980s film "Scared to Death", which I have never seen, but also works as a stand-alone film because it has no connection to the original.
