A revenge drama, which revolves around two families based out of London. One family which plans an elaborate countryside wedding and the other is a violent criminal family of moneylenders. Amidst a week-long function, both these worlds collide. A past secret sparks an incident of violence - in turn changing all their lives drastically.

The story is good and the pointless revenge theme was interesting. But the characters and the plot is so thin I often struggled to care or be invested in the drama. Just like every other every Bejoy Nambiar movie this one also is quite stylish but even the style/ action aspect was quite underwhelming as well.
Acting was pretty good for most part, but Sacha Baron Cohen was exceptional.
Always fascinated by Bejoy Nambiar's experiment with form of film, hyperlink narrative in David to making an anthology of shorts with Solo to creating a web series and film simultaneously with Taish.
Often credited with preferring style over substance and rightly so, it's never usually a fulfilling meal, but surely a meal that looks good before you consume it. Taish uses one his similar tropes of having a volatile, rash character whose decisions basically force the narrative to move forward. It isn't entirely devoid of substance though a lot is to offer and certainly the web show atleast feels filling to say the least, while film obviously feels too light in its drama weightage, but that's okay, maybe it was the hangover of watching the show before I watched the film.
Good watch though.

Animal before Animal! I like how they use Lifafa in the end, I've never seen a film end like this, the end was pretty much a vibe. I remember watching this film with my dad 4 years ago, Movie was superb when it comes to talk about technical aspects and acting performances, but screenplay was pretty much mid as i wanted much more to happen, ik people like Ryan Gosling go silent and beat the shit out of people to take revenge, but there is a support of screenplay to his "literally me" character, Taish didn't have that thing. This film portrays masculinity in a superb way but the characters who are not masculine enough are just there. Great music choice! Harshwardhan rane! I'm fan.
There is something about Bejoy Nambiar’s films that is visceral in its nature, which lingers around like a feeling that isn’t confined into words. Even if something seems superficial at first but if you dig down and deep enough there is a heart in it. That is what Taish is which is a drama about circumstances plays in the lives of three protagonists that changes their lives and perspective completely. It even changes the perspective of the characters we have in our mind and makes us empathize with each and every one of them. Make sure in real life there is no such thing as villain, as people make their choice of actions and then the consequences of their actions…
Nambiar tries hard to revivify the experience of Shaitan, which dealt with complex family dynamics, odd friendships, and strange relationships, Taish isn’t even close to it. But, the intensity and pace never fall flat.

The director regains the silken form that’s been eluding him since ‘Shaitan’, and I think it’s because the trashy, telenovela-style material is just right.
An example of how many bollywood films remain unrecognized by the mainstream media and viewers. Acting and screenplay were so good that not for once I felt its long three hour length.
Watched in series format.
