An enjoyable dark comedy with an interesting tone and setting, while being loaded with quirky characters, enjoyable music, vibrant cinematography and damn funny one liners. If only the screenplay had been tighter, this movie would have been a classic. A fun watch nevertheless.

It was 2010 Diwali. As a yearly tradition like the previous years, I was at my ancestral town. A morning bursting crackers with my cousins, an oil bath, and food. Lots of it! Sweet, Savory, Crispy & Crunchy. And then a lot more crackers! With neighbors, friends, cousins, brothers, family. An entire city sharing joy. Celebrating the joy of sharing.
But my favorite part of Diwali was the evening! A night sky lit up in every direction you could see. Every second thru an entire weekend. And for me, was the late night trip to the cinemas! Running around, getting the numbers, and one of us heading to the cinemas in the afternoon to make sure we got the seats in…
SuRa, a Vijay/Balakrishna fan searching for sarakku in Chennai, is the accurate Kovai representation.
A Coen Brothers style absurd comedy of how unrelated characters and incidents end up affecting each other's destiny over a single night. Plenty of quirks and lot of it is fun. Just that the film needed less of John Vijay (he was too good in Oram po, not here), as if one was not annoying enough, there's 2 here. Shiva, Charan and Lekha trio is fun.
PS: An All timer album from GV.
2010 idiosyncratic tamil dubbed brainrot Wong kar wai-esque film with starring muttagoose Shiva and bulged freaky Charan.
The gayest and most idiosyncratic Tamil film in existence.
on my way to to make spb Charan and sasikanth to re-release this banger along with aaranya kaandam at gun point.....
Vaa and Aaaranya Kaandam would really make a great double feature, won't it.
Not quite funny like Siva's other films. This was just trying too hard to not care.
I should not say this underrated /overrated and all its just that what a great one you should have missed that what makes me say damn so underrated
Nirav shah is probably one great soul experimenting and adding such a beauty to any film he works
Y not studios at their prime time gave this wow
And GVP giving such albums
Unnai kan theduthe
More than Agila Ulaga superstar presence it's Sp charan stealing the show
Left kaavum polaam right kaavum polam
