  Vandanam is a gripping revenge thriller, a buddy film, an iconic romantic comedy, an adorable love story, all in one. It’s always an absolute delight to watch vintage Mohanlal in fun-loving mode. Girija Shettar, aka Gadha, is gorgeous. Mohanlal-Mukesh combination is gold. The ending breaks my heart still, no matter how many times I’ve revisited this film over the years. Vandanam never gets old. All time favorite.

  P. S. I hope Unni and Gadha re-unites in a parallel world where mobile phones existed already.

  When ever they talk the scenes becomes bayangara cute.unni character(mohanlal) is a rizz God.Gaadha is pretty tbh and the scenes of "kavilinayil" song is so cute.Songs okke onninonn mechamm!!
  Mohanlals expressions and things he do to make Gaadha fall for him(mandatharangal) made me laugh a lot.i can't go on without admiring his performance,such a legend,complete actor!!
  Mohanlal&Mukesh combo is perfect.
  Kuthiriravattam pappu chettan,when ever his scenes comes it means Iam gonna laugh.
  Watching this movie was so fun except that ending.I should have watch the full movie earlier,I regret for it now!

  1989. The year that belongs to Girija Shettar, one of the most gorgeous girls to ever grace the screen 😍. Vandanam is peak Priyadarshan aka it's reminiscent of everything that's 80s and 90s South Indian Cinema. At the core a pulpy revenge thriller, it has romance running throughout, plenty of slapstick humour as well. Parts of it has aged well while some hasn't especially the stereotypical stalking romance track. Ettan at his charming best though. Liked how they made Nedumudi Venu's character grey making it hard for us to root for him. And Priyadarshan is a Sadist for endings like these, I guess Kilukkam is the only film from his and Mohanlal combo that had a happy ending and exactly for this reason it's very special.

  I remember hating this movie with complete conviction when I saw this the first time (8 - 10 years old me) – because of the freaking last 5-10 mins end portion. If absolute frustration had a definition, its gonna be those moments in my book. And after seeing it multiple times throughout the years, the fragments of the uneasiness still remain!!! Why the unnecessary thread, set up at the absolute end, just to break people...

  A classic evergreen cinema in every other sense.

  P. S. The recent cliche of most psycho thriller movies can be seen implemented here decades ago!!! Also, probably the weakest Priyadarshan heroine in terms of performance, though everyone else was blazing❤️‍🔥

  A10 is charming as always, got good comedy, Girija Shettar is so pretty, songs are too good and laa la laa la brings me nostalgia. But this rewatch was not enjoyable cz of the problematic writing. Also what to expect from an 80's film :/
