Makes me wanna play Yugioh again. The Japanese intro song still slaps. Gives me Yugioh abridged vibes.

Although the old "Duel Monsters" rules don't make any sense, I still appreciate this for taking the time to explain them. That was never necessary in the US version tho, nobody was ever playing by the rules there anyway.

the gag is that weedy kid’s still gonna get his ass bullied bc in the real game itd be fifteen years before Red Eyes Black Dragon finally becomes playable in the meta
Alright so maybe not everything related to the original series is good. This stand alone OVA/movie isn't good. The lack of the English VA's really lose a lot of the charm of the show, but besides that it just isn't a very fun experience.
The new introduced character is generic and bland, and too much of the story revolves around him. Kaiba and Yugi's rivalry isn't really there, and none of the sparks to make it happen are really present either. It just feels like a shallow mockery of the greatness of Yu-Gi-Oh! A few of the pieces of animation look fantastic, but overall this just isn't good.
Babies first duel monsters
Has about as much quality that you'd expect from like a vhs tape bundled with a pack of cards to show kids how to play. Which would've been cool to do but they don't get into most of the rules so it's more of just a cocomelon for dumb babies (me). Idk still like any and all yugi content so I'm an impartial judge. I'd still recommend checking it out as it's short and you can know literally nothing about the franchise going in. Also I used to play a toon deck so I understand the kids pain of being a loser, LOOK I DIDN'T KNOW MY DECK WASN'T VERY VIABLE I JUST LIKED THE CARD ART.
Un día compré la supuesta película de Yu-Gi-Oh! En un puesto del pasito y venia esta madre. No entendía porque hablaban japones y por qué la historia giraba en torno a un niño miado chillón pero me gustaba mucho, es muy nostalgica para mi. Talinda.
yugioh season 0 randomly became my binge hyperfixation of the week so of course i also watched this
yugi is voiced by one of my favorite voice actors of all time, the absolute legend megumi ogata, and it is a crime she didn't continue to voice him (even though i do also really like shunsuke kazama in the role). when i watched the first episode of season 0 i actually screamed when i recognized her on literally the first words yami yugi uttered, i couldn't believe that my favorite character was also voiced by my favorite actor lmao i was in HEAVEN
anyway, yugioh is currently taking up all my brain space so this was fun to watch! it has weak filler episode vibes but watching yami yugi and kaiba resentfully stare at each other for like 15 minutes during cool visuals is always a big plus
I'm a Blue-Eyes White Dragon while you are just Dark Magician
I love how much time they put into explaining the fake rules
Kaiba is such a shit
JACK ATLAS WOULD DESTROY THE KID IN THIS!
PROPS FOR THE NEW BAKURA REDESIGN THOUGH...
